Signing Up

  • How do I register?
  • From the computer: Go to familymap.att.com and click the Get First 30 Days Free button.

    On Android: The AT&T FamilyMap application is preloaded on Android devices. You can access the application by visiting your phone's Main Menu or by visiting the following site on your PC: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.wavemarket.waplauncher&feature=search_result.

    On Blackberry devices, Windows 7 devices, and other Feature phones, the AT&T FamilyMap app is frequently available as a preload. You can also text FMAPP to 7229 to access the application on your phone.

    On iPhone: To access the full-featured mobile web app version of FamilyMap, go to https://familymap.att.com.

    The new mobile web app designed for the iPhone will ensure that you receive automatic updates. You can easily move to this new version of AT&T FamilyMap: simply go to https://familymap.att.com in Safari on your iPhone. To add the app to your home screen, just follow the instructions after signing in to Add to Home Screen.

  • How much does AT&T FamilyMap cost?
  • There are two pricing options. You can locate up to two phones for $9.99 a month or you can locate up to five phones for $14.99 a month.

    Your first 30 days of service are FREE! Standard data and messaging charges apply. If you do not cancel prior to the end of the free 30 days, you will automatically be subscribed and charged either $9.99 per month thereafter to locate up to two family members or $14.99 per month thereafter to locate up to five family members unless you cancel the service.

    To cancel, you may use any of the following options:

    From your computer: Visit http://www.att.com/directbill and follow the instructions there or log into your wireless account using AT&T Online Account Management at http://www.att.com/olam.

    From your phone: You can also cancel by calling Customer Care at 1-800-331-0500, please enter the phone number that signed up for the AT&T FamilyMap service, press 0 for more options, and then select GPS Services in the automated menu to route your call appropriately.

  • Can I locate a phone that isn't on my AT&T wireless account?
  • No. You can only locate AT&T phones that are on your wireless account.

  • How do I unsubscribe?
  • To cancel, you may use any of the following options:

    From your computer: Visit http://www.att.com/directbill and follow the instructions there or log into your wireless account using AT&T Online Account Management at http://www.att.com/olam. Select MyAT&T, Wireless, Manage Features, and Select "I no longer want to add this feature." Follow the additional steps required to remove this feature.

    From your phone: You can also cancel by calling Customer Care at 1-800-331-0500. If you call Customer Care, please enter the phone number that signed up for the AT&T FamilyMap service, press 0 for more options, and then select GPS Services in the automated menu to route your call appropriately.

  • Why do I see an error that "my wireless account is not compatible with AT&T FamilyMap (40030)" when I try to sign up?
  • Purchase Blocker might be enabled on your AT&T account. Contact AT&T customer support number at 1-800-331-0500 or dial 611 from an AT&T wireless phone to verify your account status.

  • Why has my FamilyMap account been suspended?
  • FamilyMap account suspensions are normally the result of billing issues, but can also result from account modifications like phone number, rate plan changes, and Smart Control's Purchase Blocker. To learn why your FamilyMap account has been suspended and to resolve the issue, please contact AT&T customer support at null or dial 611 from your AT&T wireless phone.
